My commitment to integrity comes from my upbringing. Raised in rural Illinois, I watched my dad build a successful commercial and industrial construction company from the ground up. Today, my own Midwestern home is busy, noisy, and beautifully full of life. My loving wife Samantha— who is proudly the cause of and solution to all of my problems—and our five fantastic boys are my entire reason for existing and my greatest accomplishments. Our last two boys arrived at the same time; so much for my original plan, but we happily embraced God’s plan!
Our household includes four remaining backyard pandemic chickens, an indoor cat named Ophelia, an outdoor cat named Cleo, and two indoor dogs: Mayzie, a Chocolate Lab who steals all the food she can, and Alfred, a rescue pup who is rapidly learning her bad habits. We even host a rotating cast of local wildlife, including a recent skunk who broke into the coop for a late-night snack. When we manage to escape the beautiful chaos of our backyard zoo, you can find us visiting the beaches of Michigan or crappie fishing at Lake of the Ozarks with the boys.
